What’s New with OKPRI?
First, we have actually created an online store front. I have seen this store and I can tell you that if you are looking for that elusive OKPRI hat or mug, then I have the place for you to go! Shopaholics and OKPRI fans alike, will find something there that they will really like. Stay tuned on this one and I will try to highlight new items as they come out or are available. The second item on the agenda is one that is near and dear to me. We are very soon going to launch an exciting interactive event with one of OKPRI’s favorite investigation sites. Yes, I am talking about the infamous & haunted Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie! We have had a lot of good data come from this inn and we would like to share it with you lucky people out there in paranormal land. What are we going to do, you ask? Well I am here to tell you that if you like to mix dinner with a little bit of ghost hunting, then I have the coolest news for you! The proprietor of the Stone Lion Inn, Becky, is going to provide a seven course gourmet dinner for all those who attend. In addition, during your dinner experience, Becky will share with you all the colorful history of the Stone Lion Inn, and the ghost stories associated with it as well. After dinner, OKPRI will then give a presentation about our group and will share with you the evidence that our group has collected during our investigations there. After that comes the FUN part! All those interested will be accompanied by an OKPRI team member to conduct their own mini-ghost hunt throughout the three story Inn. We encourage everyone to bring cameras, audio equipment, EMF meters or their choice of equipment etc. along with them on this mini-investigation. While touring through the Stone Lion Inn, members of OKPRI will share with you their own personal experiences there, showing you specific rooms and areas that we personally experienced our own paranormal phenomenon. OKPRI & The Stone Lion Inn will provide all food, drinks & entertainment. All you need to provide is the open mindedness and the thrill of possibly finding out about the paranormal firsthand! We are exciting about sharing this opportunity with everyone! So….does this sound like something you would like to do? We have attached a flyer at the end of this newsletter that will give you all the details about this special night/event. We have only 35 spots available for this first dinner & investigation which is scheduled for March 30th, so reserve your spot today! We have several dates scheduled for future dinner investigations, and will begin filling those spots as soon as our first date is full. Reader’s Realm
Okay everyone, since I am now writing our newsletters, I wanted to change them up a bit from the way our old ones were. I don’t quite have this next portion of the letter completed yet, so I am putting it on your shoulders, dear reader. I would like to use this section to get more of you involved. What I mean is that I would like to feature your picture or story about something paranormal that might have happened to you or someone you know! Serious is what I am looking for, but feel free to put in something funny if the mood strikes you. Again, and yes I am repeating myself, we would like to feature you or someone you know in our monthly newsletter! Also, If you have something that you would like to have explained, analyzed or just have questions that you need answered, you can go to our message board and post it or e-mail either Christy or myself. We do respect confidentially so if you submit something to us that you would like us to keep confidential, we will respect your request and it will not be made public! This can include names in your story, faces in pictures, personal information, etc. So with that said, help me keep this section of our newsletter interesting, send us your stories, pictures, etc!
Upcoming OKPRI Events
Okay readers, this is where I get to tell you all about our upcoming investigation plans, etc. As of this writing, we are gearing up to do an investigation on March 11th at a private residence in Tulsa! Evidence from this location has already been recorded during a preliminary investigation. We are proud to announce that we will be featuring a FANTASTIC Class A evp from this residence and much more, once we publish this investigation on our website! Paranormal Articles, News & Weird Facts
The last section of this newsletter is going to be dedicated to interesting paranormal news and/or weird facts. It was suggested by our founder, Christy, and I thought it would be a good idea to incorporate this section in as well. This will also be an area that will be open to our readers to submit interesting tidbits of information that they may come across and wish to share! Please know that we can put your name by anything that you submit to our newsletter if you would like! So what do we have this month for this section? Here goes nothing!
***How Closely Should We All Pay Attention To Our Dreams?***
In 1979, David Booth had a series of recurring nightmares of a plane crashing- and on May 25, 1979, his premonitions came true. A DC-10 took off from Chicago's O'Hare Airport, flew a half-mile, then turned on it's side and slammed into the ground, exploding on impact. The 272 people on board died. Booth's dreams started on May 16th, and after they had continued for seven nights, having seen in those dreams the name of the airline, he went and told people in authority at the airport. They made notes of what he'd told them, but claimed they couldn't just ground a whole airline, so the planes went on as usual- and David Booth's nightmares came true.
***How Well Do You Know The REAL Frankenstein?***
Frankenstein's castle really exists? Yep! It's located in Darmstat Germany. But the "weird scientist" that did all the experiments wasn't a Frankenstein! His name was Konrad Johann Dippel. He moved in the castle in the 17th century, using the corpses from the Frankenstein’s cemetery to experiment on! When the towns people started to suspect him of stealing corpses, he turned to trying the experiments on himself, and died drinking one of these formulas.
***Say Hello To The Real Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde!***
The tale of Jekyll & Hyde was inspired to be written by Robert Lewis Stevenson thanks to a man called William Brodie. Brodie, a man who by day was a respected man of society and Deacon of Edinburgh, at night he hung out in the lowest parts of the town, and murdered many people. They hung him for his doings, but before doing so, he managed to slip a tube in his throat to prevent his neck for snapping. After the hanging, they cut him from the gallows and rushed him to his home where a private doctor tried to revive him. But did William Brodie escape death? When they opened his coffin- his corpse wasn't there. We might never know.

As life would have it, I have been having a hard time keeping a regular newsletter up for our subscribers due to my busy schedule and duties to keep OKPRI going strongly! Jim who is an excellent writer as you all can tell from his previous work above, has a great talent for putting his thoughts into written words, so I’m sure that you all will enjoy the upcoming monthly newsletters. If at any time you do not wish to receive our newsletters anymore, or if you have been added to our mailing list by mistake, please let us know by sending us an e-mail to: Christy@okpri.com and ask us to take you off the list and we will do so per your request.
I want to also take this time to welcome everyone to OKPRI who may be receiving our newsletter for the first time or those of you who are new to our group, website or message board. We strive very hard to maintain a friendly & professional atmosphere and work very hard to bring you the latest new, investigations and updates going on with our group. We’re always looking for ways to improve our website & newsletter so feel free to drop us a line anytime. As always, we do not charge for any of our investigations and are always looking for interesting locations to visit so feel free to contact us with places that you may have in mind or need help with.
OKPRI had a fantastic year in 2005, our best one yet, and we hope that 2006 will be even better! We have found that by staying humble in our endeavors, we have had many doors open for us that have brought so many positive opportunities leading to exciting new things, all of which seem to keep falling into our laps! We hope to continue this positive path and we look forward to more exciting things taking place for our group in the future!
As some of you all might have heard already, our group had the pleasure of meeting the TAPS team from the famous Sci-Fi show called, “Ghosthunters.” Even better, we were able to hang out with them in depth and then prior to this, myself and one other OKPRI member had the chance to be guests on the “TAPS Ghosthunter” show and did the filming with the TAPS team at the Stone Lion Inn on the 15th of February. That episode will be featured in their upcoming second half of Season 2, which starts on March 29th with the airing we did being shown in May or June. As we learn more about this, we will keep you all posted.
